Location Strategies
HISTORY/BACKGROUND The Locations Strategies Community was launched at the Fall -2008 CoreNet Global Summit in Orlando. Initially, the community was called the Economic Development Community, but upon further discussion with CoreNet Global staff, the name was changed to be more inclusive of all CoreNet Global member segments End User, Service Provider, Economic Developer.
ABOUT The foundation for the Location Strategies Community is derived from the Economic Development Task Force findings presented to the CoreNet Global Board in the Spring of 2006. The Task Force, which was lead by Del Boyette, submitted their findings in four broad categories that included:
- Networking
- Learning
- Communication
- Observations
MISSION The mission of the Location Strategies Community is to create a global model that provides a platform and environment that enables end users, service providers and economic developers to share knowledge and best practices in corporate real estate location strategy decision-making in today’s ever changing economy. This model will be aligned and consistent with the vision, mission, goals, and strategic objectives of CoreNet Global.
HOW WE WORK The Location Strategies Community is governed by a Community Board responsible for overseeing and directing the community’s policies and procedures, research, programs and events and developing innovative ways to provide thought leadership in location strategy decision-making in the 21st Century. Several operating committees will support the board, including Membership, Sponsorship, Programs and Events, Communications, Knowledge Management and Content/Research
